For my non-representational project, I want to carve several mounds from plaster and arrange them in a bed of plaster shavings. In this formal approach I want to create an aesthetic similar to that of a zen stone garden. The organic nature of my project is more solar or chemical in nature rather than biological or ecological. The criss-crossing of concentric circles in the design will help to pull the composition together as a working whole. I do not believe I will be using any skin layer or alteration of any kind to my material. I may decide upon black leather strips to create my concentric circles. The top picture is a more accurate depiction of my idea.
