After seeing this image, I thought of the idea of glueing newspaper print across my cast form. After the glue dries, I could paint my skull forms underneath. The newspaper would create a patterned under layer which I could then create value on with paint. This approach would provide more textural depth to the overall composition. Laying newspaper as a ground could imply a more abstract conceptual component. One may reflect on the deathly gloom which our media too often covers in lieu of more positive reporting.
