Hello Katie and classmates.
I have been working on my landmass base for my project to give a sense of weight to the overall composition.
I began by chopping up some styrofoam and glueing it up with some rather expensive apoxy glue. Which didn't work because all the pieces just slid around! So I just hammered the hell out of it with some masking tape to hold everything together. That seems to be working. :)
I purchased a large bowl which will serve to contain my 3-D project. I will also offset everything within the bowl so as avoid looking too symmetrical and static.
I am looking to get some moss at Micheals too cover my land mass after I give it a base coat of olive green. I hope the complexity of layering (styrofoam, tape, spray paint, and moss) will help the final appearance to be visually interesting.
I can't seem to get my photos on this blog again. In addition to my styrofoam bundle photos I also found a couple cool reference photos from a Jet Li movie. I will e-mail them to Katie.
